Pomeroy Elementary School Reviews

To My Students, Families, and Staff, It has been a pleasure to serve the Pomeroy Community over these last 29 years. You are my second family - My Pomeroy Family! When I started teaching my goal was to get kids off to a great start in their educational journey by loving to learn and to love coming to school each day. If I did that then I feel like I had a very successful career. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing your beautiful children with me. With Love, Robyn Moody Retired Kindergarten Teacher

Wonderful school my daughter is currently in Mrs Petersons class 1st grade. Pomeroy has the best teachers, I have crossed city boundaries to be able to go to this school, my daughter is my third child attending this school. Principal, teachers and office staff are amazing. I love this school and what they have done for my family. Daniels Family

My son goes to Pomeroy elementary. He absolutely loves his past and present teacher; Mrs heideman, the music teacher, the principal , david from the after school program etc. I on the other hand seem to have this undisclosed problem with the staff. They are very rude to me. They don't say hi to me when I come in the front office. The staff will gladly speak to the people who come in behind me so its so obvious that they do not like me. I think it's petty so I smile at them. I continue to take my son there because the staff are good to him and he loves that school .

My son started in the second semester. The principal is extremely involved and has the children's best interest at heart. Problems are solved immediately. I did notice that there was a low level of parent involvement.

The teachers were awesome! Theres a lot of great things about this school. I'll always remember the good times I've had there!

I have two children that attend Pomeroy. My youngest had the pleasure of being apart of Mrs.Moodys class. She is an outstanding teacher. Mr.Pascal is also wonderful, and very pationt. Our family dog was killed and he was very sympathetic with my son and took time out of his busy day to speak with my son and comfort him, and called a couple of days later to see how my son was doing.

My daughter started Pomoroy mid-school year. She was lucky enough to be enrolled into Mrs. Moody's class. My daughter was struggling with numbers and letter recognition. Within months, Mrs. Moody, had her on track with the rest of the class and she's even started to read. My daughter's attitude towards schools has also changed. Mrs. Moody greets each child in the morning with a smile and kisses their forehead good-bye at the end of class. She makes the kids feel safe, comfortable, and acknowledged. I'm so pleased that my daughter is able to have such a wonderful caring teacher; I feel blessed!

I went to Pomeroy many years ago and had the pleasure of being in Mrs. Moody's kindergarten class. After interning with her last year, (I am getting my teaching certificate) I remembered why. She genuinely cares about every child in her classroom. My daughter starts kindergarten this fall and I will try anything to cross school boundaries to give her the Mrs. Moody Experience. I also really enjoyed the overall atmosphere of the school. They still celebrate the holidays and have a great fall festival. What a great environment for children!

This school has a reasonbly good student -teacher ratio (21:1). It has strong music programs - both Orchestra and band. It ranks as perfoming plus on the AZ DOE report card. It has great continuity among its faculty - 42% have worked at the school for 10 years or more.

I think Pomeroy is a great school with dedicated teachers and support staff. I have received return calls from the principal and staff and they are calling form school and it has been fairly late at night. They love to have parents involved and they are so comitted to each and every student. I feel lucky to have my 3 children at Pomeroy!

Pomeroy is a wonderful school with an excellent, cohesive teaching staff. The only downfall is at times the class size is large.

My son was tested in 7th grade with a 3.5 reading average. I do not consider this to be acceptable. He was tested for Learning Disability in 5th but the school pyc said he was fine. I am not happy with the schools reading program. I am having to pay alot of money to get the help he needs to get him to the correct reading level. We did not know he failed all the end of the year tests until the end of 5th grade. Be sure to follow up regarding end of the year testing to make sure your child did not fall between the cracks as mine has.

My child still talks about her kindergarten teacher with fond memories. Mrs. Moody will always be one of my daughter's favorite teachers.

Mr Pascal is awesome and all of the communication made available to the parents and students is great! It's a great school and we have enjoyed being part of the community surrounding Pomeroy!
